This stage set had cold running water and steam. A small tank was hidden underneath the sink with a pond pump inside, this drove the water up and out of the taps. The water then returned to the tank via the plug hole in the sink. The steam was created with a  pond mister (ultrasonic mister) placed in a small tub of water attached to the inside of the sink, below right of the tap. In order to lift the cold mist to create the effect of steam a pocket fan was placed in the opposite side of the sink (painted white! picture below).

The pump and mister were powered by a 12volt battery, hidden next to the water tank. They were plugged into a three way socket converter that was plugged into a car cigarette lighter. The battery was  attached to the car lighter.  The switches were put inside the sink wall, near the top, on the side of the sink facing away from the audience.  The fan was battery operated.

The result was hugely effective!
